I just upgraded my phone at Sprint and found out that I can get 10% off my monthly bill by having a Credit Union account. I went out and set one up and went back to Sprint and they adjusted my account to give me 10% off. The adjustment will take 1-2 billing cycles but thought I’d mention it in case anyone else has Sprint. Not sure if this is unique to California or even San Diego for that matter.
SupportAwards a great success
The R.E.C.S.S. finished this year with the shipping of the awards to the winners. I was really happy to recognize the winners and am excited for next year for the 2nd Annual Support Awards. Here is a picture of Yola’s support awards lined up:

Thank you again to all of the sponsors of this year support awards.
Why do you go to the movies?
Pam and I were having a discussion tonight about what are the major reasons people go to the movies. I’m curious as to what other people think so I created a poll. I’d love to know what you think:
Fry and Leela for Halloween
This year for Halloween Pam and I went all out and dressed up as Fry and Leela from Futurama. If you aren’t familiar with Futurama I did a side by side comparison of the characters so that you
can see how authentic our costumes were:
I think that overall we looked pretty convincing. We had a good time at a house party and ended up at IHOP at the end of the night. It was good to hang out at the end of the night. I can’t believe that October is over. Only a month and a half left until Christmas. I have a lot of things I need to accomplish before the end of this year. Hopefully I’ll be able to get around to everything.

Other than that I’m still having a blast with my phone…I’ll let you know when the excitement wears off. I’m a little bummed out that it doesn’t come with Android 2.0 by default, but I’ll be interested in trying the upgrade once I’ve gotten around to learning more about the platform. Well until next time, you keep reading and I’ll keep living.
My new Samsung Moment
Today I got my new phone the Samsung Moment. It was officially released today and I was at the Sprint store in line to get it. It has been a while since I’ve had a smart phone so my initial reaction is ecstatic. A few things to note though is that it takes pretty decent pics, the QWERTY is fairly easy to use. It has the touchscreen and the keyboard which was one of my big requirements. The touchscreen is fairly responsive. It has a full on headphone jack to connect up to my car stereo (Bonus) Includes 2GB of SD storage (supports up to 32Gb). I have installed an SSH client for it that works great and the network is fairly responsive (I’m on Sprint). Since this is Android the Calendar, Email, and contacts sync’d up with Google after just one sign in. Very easy to setup and mess around with it. I’ll try and do a follow up post after the Christmas morning feeling has worn off.
