Today I received multiple text messages all referencing Unapproved activity. These include a url/email that doesn’t resolve and isn’t being sent from an authorized source. I searched for info on it but it appears to be a new scam. Here are the text messages I received so that you can be aware:

UNAPPROVED ACTIVITY. Tollfree call 8663845761

ImportantUSE CREDIT UNION notify: *592
UNAPPROVED ACTIVITY. Tollfree call 866.384.5761

Fr: usecu@usecuservices.org
————————————-

Important USE CREDIT UNION notify:
UNAUTHORIZED ACTIVITY. Tollfree call 8007261453

If you received any of these emails it is clearly a scam, don’t respond. Seems related to this scam.

Got a similar text message on my phone just a few minutes ago. Text message read: From: usecu@usecuservices.org Important USE CREDIT UNION notify: UNAUTHORIZED ACTIVITY. Tollfree call 8007261453

It might mean something if I had an account with them.

I think these scammers are targeting people in a certain city by supplying a Credit Union that does business in the area (USE Credit Union does business in the San Diego area).

I guess they hope they find some person that ends up having an account with them. Haven’t tried the supplied number and probably won’t since I hear that 800 numbers can grab the number you’re calling from even if you are blocking it.

Just like Corey said, just ignore and delete the message.
